How to calm your nervous system
Share
An overactive limbic system is keeping you in fight or flight mode constantly.
Here's a list of easy ways to regulate it:-
- Balance your electrolytes (Magnesium + Potassium + Sodium).
- Cut all processed foods and vegetable oils.
- Sunmaxxing (au naturel if possible).
- Practice self-love.
- Sungaze during sunset/sunrise to help align your circadian rhythms.
- Walk barefoot in nature.
- Prioritise 8-10 hours of sleep a night.
- Exercise 3-4 times a week.
- Smile at a stranger (activates mirror neurons).
- Hug your family and pets.
- Unplug and spend more time in nature.
- Go skinny dipping in the ocean or for a ocean swim as often as you can.
- Meditation/calming visualisations.
- Practice daily breathwork: Nadi Shopdhana (alternate nostril breathing).
- Consider taking Magnesium Glycinate, Ashwagandha, Rhodiola, L'Theanine and Vitamin B1.
- Fake it till you make it (your brain won't be able to tell).
- Adopt a mantra: "I am healthy, I am calm and I am powerful". Repeat it all the time.
- Ditch bluelight two hours before bedtime.
- Plan a spontaneous adventure.
